I got 1 Christmas present from Todd this year, my Nikon D3000. It is BAD ASS. So much so, I am intimidated by all it can do. The thing was that I wanted something I could grow in to. Well, this is going to be a challenge! Here are some photos I have taken along w/ a borrowed lens from Uncle Jeff (Nikkor 85mm/1.4D).
I love this one b/c of the colors. The kids like to be pushed around in their Cozy Coupe.
All 3 sitting together, eating snacks & looking out the window.
Sweet Miss Gabi.
Look at those pretty blue eyes!
I think I like these 3 enough to print & frame! Something about shoes, especially Converse. These are Gabi's feet.
I promise to share more tomorrow. This camera is LOADS of fun & I have yet to discover all its tricks. Anyone w/ advice, I welcome it!

wow. i love the pictures. what is it about the camera that makes these images seem to stand out? i've tried to take these kind of "artsy" pics and it always comes out looking like a random shot of nothing. does a camera make that make much difference? anyway, the images are awesome. have fun with it.
Astrid, did Todd get the camera bundle from Costco? That's where my parents got mine and I just switched to the upclose lens. I am SO intimidated by this camera, but I am slowly learning.
I think the quality of the shot is what makes it good but the creativity comes from the shooter, no matter the camera. I've had to dig deep & take LOTS & LOTS of pics to come up w/ these. Playing w/ the camera is the key. It has also inspired me to take shots I wouldn't have w/ my other camera. Call it motivation to be creative.
Sam, no he didn't. Not sure where it came from. I only got the 18-55mm lens w/ the camera. The other is borrowed.
love the shoe pix!
Oooh, the 85, 1.4 is nice! You'll probably want to get you a prime lens or two. I'm a Canon girl, so I'm no help with Nikon settings, but I'm sure you're local camera store does classes, you should sign up for one! Photography is addictive. :)
Great pics!
Those shoe pics are great! I also really like the one of Gabi.
Funny. I'm a triplet-mommy also and my hubby gave me a NikonD3000 for my BD (though I got it for Christmas). I'm pretty intimidated by it, but am also trying to blog/post pictures of the kiddos each day and this is giving me LOTS of practice. I decided I needed a better way to "scrapbook" and the pictures/blog post each day will help.
I'm using the AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED lens most of the time because it is a hassle to switch lenses.
Hubby is hoping his investment will mean that we don't have to spend money on photographers. We'll see. :)
