My kids MUST be getting up in the middle of the night for a play party! They have woken up w/ dark circles under their eyes for the past 2 days. If you saw them, you would think I kept them up until midnight & woke them up at 4am to start the day! Is this normal? I have a feeling they are up chatting about dreams or something crazy like that. Maybe they are practicing all their new found skills? What ever the reason, they wake up tired.
I know I have also not mentioned this but they have started cutting back how much milk they drink. For the past month or so, they have been taking less & less. At first I got frustrated & was fighting them to finish the bottle but I gave up. What is the point? It puts everyone in a bad mood. Up until about 10 mths old, they were drinking about 28oz which was down from 32-34oz. Now, I am lucky to get them to drink 22-24oz. Sometimes they will finish all 26oz throughout the day but more often than not, they don't.
Ian has pretty much refused the bottle. I am lucky to get an oz in him when he does. I was only breastfeeding him 3/day but since he will not take the bottle before bedtime, I am forced to BF him again. No problem b/c I am somewhat engorged & he only nurses for about 15 min.
We are practicing w/ sippy cups. We have the Playtex kind & in order to help them out, I cut a 2nd slit into the plastic inserts. The nutritionist said no soft tips for the kids b/c it will delay speech development & since Ian is considered delayed in that area, we don't want to do any more damage. Sofi also likes the sippy w/ a straw made by Nuby.
How about some more pics of these adorable kids?
Gotta love this one! Sofi & Ian playing together. Ok, more like Sofi crawling all over Ian & him looking at me for help.
This is Gabi just crackin' up about something, God only knows!
Maybe they are still adjusting to the time change. They will get it. On their own time :)

Cute pics! Sounds like there's a party going on!
ReplyDeleteThe research that I have done on sippies is that all sippy cups are tied to speech delays -- not just soft tips? --But it seems like this might be one of those controversial things. Bleh.
I've missed talking to you - hope to talk to you soon!
